Work at Camp

From the cabin counselors who create welcoming living spaces for their campers to the program specialists who spend each day teaching their favorite sport or activity, Bryn Mawr staff members work together to give each camper a summer she’ll never forget. You’ll be a role model, a leader, and a great example to your campers — and the friendships you’ll make with your fellow counselors can last a lifetime.

Staff Positions

Bryn Mawr counts on a staff of 180 hardworking individuals to bring summer magic to life for our campers!

Cabin Specialists (General Counselors)

Cabin Specialists live in cabins with campers and spend the day traveling with their bunks-participating in activities, engaging at meals and providing support- while sharing in the excitement of daily life at camp. Cabin Specialists are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of their campers.

Specialty Counselors

Specialty Counselors live in cabins with campers and work in a program area, sharing their expertise, during our daily activity periods. A Program Director will oversee the activity, providing guidance to ensure that each Specialty Counselor has training and support. Specialty Counselors are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of the campers, within their bunks and program areas.

They are generally seniors in college or graduates in education, psychology or social work with some camp experience. Our Group Leaders are members of our leadership team who support the emotional and physical health of our campers and counselors, helping to ensure a comfortable living environment for everyone on Cabin Row.

Senior Leadership Staff

Our core Leadership Staff (Directors, Division Heads, Parent & Staff Liaisons, Programming Directors, Operations Team) supervise programming, communications and life on Cabin Row. Experienced members of the Bryn Mawr staff, they support our group leaders, program directors, counselors and campers with a continuous presence in the cabins and at activities throughout the day.

Male Staff

We hire male staff each summer, primarily very skilled specialists in program areas such as tennis, athletics and adventure. Male staff live in separate accommodations and have some additional responsibilities to help keep camp running smoothly.

Medical Staff

Our medical staff is a crucial part of the camp community. We employ a team of nurses to dispense medications, triage and treat campers and staff who are ill or injured, and respond to other medical needs. Nurses must be licensed RNs and obtain Pennsylvania licensing (we will assist with this process).

Support Staff

Camp could not function properly without our Support Staff, who work around the clock to take care of all of our campers and staff. Our hardworking kitchen staff assist in the preparation, serving and cleanup of three meals and two snacks daily, plus additional duties as requested. Laundry staff work at our commercial facility in Honesdale. Each cabin’s laundry is sent out twice every week. Our maintenance staff care for 78 groomed acres of land and approximately 50 buildings, including lawn and grounds work, indoor and outdoor building upkeep, and response to emergency situations.

We Want You As You!

We believe in an inclusive work environment that promotes and values diversity. As an equal opportunity employer, we embrace all that contributes to who you are today and the role model you will be for our campers.
